Back in April I had a great time shooting Jowe Head and the Fleeting Glimpses. Here’s the first video from the set . . . more to come.
I recently had the great pleasure of collaborating with Richard Chartier on this video for the Pinkcourtesyphone (Richard Chartier) track called “closer to here than you care to be.” The track is on the album Elegant & Detached (Room40, Australia). As we say around the house, “do the fair thing” — play it with headphones, play it loud, and play it full screen!
“A Stitch in Crime” – Dr. Barry Mayfield (Leonard Nimoy) is a highly successful and respected surgeon, but his methods leave a lot to be desired. A fellow nurse becomes suspicious about his procedures in sewing up internal organs after ‘successful’ operations. The good doctor kills her before she spills the beans, but Mayfield doesn’t count on detective Columbo (Peter Falk) investigative skills which quickly uncovers a trail of murderous events. Here’s a song from a DC band called Buildings. The music is complex, energetic, and fun. Two reviews of their latest album dub them a punk band with a science fiction feel. I agree, some excellent sound track material here (space alien chase scene anyone?)! As to the shoot, I got to the stage between songs and decided to try to capture a whole number in one shot without later needing to do any cut-aways.
These are The Plums at Dynasty on January 12, 2012.
The softer side of the Plums . . . well, not really. This is my favorite part of that night’s performance – noisy and hypnotic – a staggering civil defense robot on a rampage. Note the car noise near the end, it fits in well!
A small slice of The Plums playing at January’s Last-Tuesday-of-the-Month Residency at Dynasty (2210 14th St NW, WDC). Get more Plums news at plumsband.blogspot.com/ and music at soundcloud.com/plums/
Out in the city with Ruby and the T2i — we saw a strange sight.
