These are The Plums at Dynasty on January 12, 2012.
The softer side of the Plums . . . well, not really. This is my favorite part of that night’s performance – noisy and hypnotic – a staggering civil defense robot on a rampage. Note the car noise near the end, it fits in well!
A small slice of The Plums playing at January’s Last-Tuesday-of-the-Month Residency at Dynasty (2210 14th St NW, WDC). Get more Plums news at plumsband.blogspot.com/ and music at soundcloud.com/plums/

Nights out on the town . . . not a easy as they once were. Thanks Victoria!
This documents a first attempt at low tech live video performance. The Plums, a fantastic Arlington, VA-based experimental band, asked me to project video at one of their shows several months ago. I looked into various programs for live video mixing, but, in the end, I decided to do something less technical, more physical. It also opened the project up to collaborators. I ran a camera and Maribeth Egan was in charge of our foreground objects. Paris Bustillos ran a camera as well. The Plums played for about 25 minutes, it felt like 10! Composing shots in real-time for an audience was incredibly fun! Now I need to break down and buy a projector (can’t borrow projectors forever!). I’ll be posting the whole show soon.
Good Morning!
